Surreal Moab Hiking Trip For Women!April-November Timeline
Get ready for an amazingly surreal experience as we hike the sandstone cliffs and red rock canyons of Moab, Utah. The first time I came here, I felt like I was on Mars because of the amazing, awe-inspiring scenery!
Thurs. night- After you settle into our lodging, we will hold a meet and greet from 3-4pm with all the awesome women in our group. I will start the introductions-My name is Tracey and I love hiking, dogs, chips/salsa and sangria!
We will kick off the festivities by heading to Dead Horse Park for a sunset hike. Even without a sunset, this park offers jaw-dropping views. This is a surreally beautiful vista served as the backdrop for many Westworld scenes and Thelma and Louise!
Friday-We will enjoy our breakfast and coffee while admiring the view from our home away from home. We will pack our lunches and head for Arches park for the day.
Our first hike will be Delicate Arch, perhaps the most recognizable arch in the United States. Although it may be crowded, this 52-foot sandstone arch is a must do in order to see one of the best views in Utah. We will spend a lot of time taking photos.
Afterwards, we will hike the excellent Devils’ Garden Primitive Loop. This is one of the most spectacular hikes you can experience in any national park. The two hikes together will be over 10 miles. We will head back to town to enjoy a well-deserved dinner and dessert in Moab.
Saturday-We will head to Canyonlands for more epic scenery and hiking. This day has a lot of different hikes to offer!

We will start the day at Mesa Arch, located in the Island in the Sky portion of Canyonlands. This is one of the Canyonlands’ most photographed views.
From there, we head to White Rim Overlook & Grand View Point for some stunning panoramic views.
Next up is Upheaval Dome, the home to some mysterious geological phenomena. Here, there are two separate overlooks of a massive, otherworldly crater. Some scientists believe it was created by a meteorite, and some say it was formed by a salt dome. Either way, we’ll enjoy our lunches here while taking in the view.
After lunch, we will hike Aztec Butte, where we will see ancient granaries. All of these hikes together total 10 miles, but with a lot of breaks in between. Dinner will be either at our rental or in Moab.
Sunday-We will head to Fisher Tower trail. This hike is 5.2 miles and 2-3 hours round trip and is a maze of sandstone towers. This trail is scenic from beginning to end! We will head back to Moab to have lunch, pack and say our goodbyes.
This trip is considered Intermediate. You should be someone who feels comfortable spending the majority of the day hiking. To maximize your enjoyment of the trip, I recommend starting an exercise routine prior to departure. Endurance is critical for this trip.
