Surreal and Stunning Sedona Hiking Trip for Women!

Tuesday night-Welcome to Sedona, Arizona! Sedona is known for its stunning scenery, red rock formations, hiking and vortexes. This hiking trip for women over 40 will feature all of those and more!

After we settle into our lodging, we will hold a meet and greet from 3-4pm with all the awesome women taking this Force of Nature Adventures hiking trip. I will start the introductions: My name is Tracey and I love hiking, dogs, chips/salsa and sangria!

This Sedona hiking trip starts with a bang as we enjoy some hearty snacks and embark on our quest to catch the sunset at the top of Airport Mesa. Airport Mesa is considered a must see and is also a vortex, a place considered to have significant spiritual energy. Now that is a winning combination!

From the Airport Mesa trail, you can see Sedona’s most famous landmarks, including Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte, Munds Mesa and the town of Sedona. This hike is about 3.2 miles and there should be an amazing sunset. Bring your headlamp for the hike back to the car.

We’ll head out to dinner at one of several amazing dinner options.

Wednesday – We have a fun filled, busy day ahead of us that starts with a sunrise hike of Doe Mountain Trail. We will grab coffee and breakfast to go as we get an early start to the festivities!

Doe Mountain is a short hike with some steep sections and provides stunning views of some of Sedona’s more prominent landmarks at the top. If we are lucky, the view might also include some hot air balloons!

Back at the trailhead, we will take the Aerie Trail to Faye Canyon Trail, which is 2.2 miles. This trail will take us through majestic landscapes with tall, red cliffs.

From here, we will explore Boynton Canyon Trail, which is 6 miles round trip. This trail is mostly flat except for the scramble to the subway cave and also features a vortex! The Subway Cave is the headliner here, with its striking tunnel-like cave overlooking the canyon. The Yavapai Apache believe this was their sacred birthplace. We need to tread carefully and have respect for the nearby ancient ruins. It is truly a privilege to visit this sacred place in Sedona.

Wow – what a day! We hiked about 15 miles and saw once in a lifetime scenery! Let’s head back to town for dinner and dessert, because hell ya, you earned it!

Thursday – Compared to yesterday, we will get a leisurely start with breakfast and coffee at our Sedona lodgings.
Today’s agenda includes hiking the scenic Brin Mesa and Soliders’ Pass. This is a one-of-a-kind, epic hike that combines two trails and will bring us by incredible views, Devils Kitchen, the Seven Sacred pools and the Soliders Pass Cave. Devils Kitchen is a massive sinkhole. There is a lot packed into this 6-mile hike.

After our hike, we will head to the Tlaquepague Arts and Crafts Village for shopping and dinner. Tlaquepague is an outdoor market featuring art galleries, craft shops and cobblestone paths.

Friday – On our last day in Sedona, we will enjoy or breakfast and coffee at our lodgings and then head out to experience Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. These are both vortexes and this hike of two iconic formations is a total of 4.5 miles.
Bell Rock is one of Sedona’s most recognizable landmarks, and this hike has a lot of fun scrambles. The Courthouse Butte offers stunning desert scenery throughout the hike. This is a spectacular way to end our time together! We will enjoy a late lunch before we say goodbye.

This trip is considered Intermediate. You should be someone who feels comfortable spending the majority of the day hiking. To maximize your enjoyment of the trip, I recommend starting an exercise routine prior to departure. Endurance is critical for this trip.
